Realistic Pencil Drawings

My name is Majda, and this website is a collection of my pencil drawings i from realistic pencil portraits to animal studies, mixed media experiments, and spontaneous sketches. My work is rooted in realism, but every piece carries something personal: an emotion, a memory, or simply the fascination I feel toward a subject.

I started drawing at a young age, and over the years it became more than just a hobby. For me, art is a way to slow down, observe closely, and capture what usually slips past unnoticed. A portrait is not only about resemblance; it’s about presence. An animal is not only a form; it’s about energy and symbolism. And even in the simplest still life, I try to show texture, contrast, and atmosphere.

My pencil drawings are mostly focused on fan art and animals. Fan art often draws on characters and personalities that carry weight and evoke deeper emotions. Animals inspire me through their mystique, grace, and natural beauty. Of course, I also explore other objects and motifs that catch my attention, becoming subjects of my work and adding layers of meaning to each piece.

How Drawings Come to Life

For me, drawing is not just about technique – it’s about slowing down and paying attention to details most people overlook. I usually start with light outlines, but the real work happens in the layering. Every shadow, texture, and highlight is added gradually, until the drawing feels alive.

I enjoy working with graphite because of its honesty – you can’t hide behind colors, everything depends on precision, patience, and contrast. Sometimes a portrait takes dozens of hours, not because it’s complicated, but because I want to capture the exact expression or mood that made me choose that subject in the first place.

Whether I’m drawing a famous actor, a raven, or one of my cats, the process is always the same: observe carefully, translate emotion into detail, and let the drawing grow layer by layer.

About the Artist

I live and work in Serbia, where most of my drawings are created in the quiet hours of the day. My main focus is realism, but I like experimenting whenever I can. Sometimes I challenge myself with unusual materials, sometimes I revisit classic themes like anatomy studies, and sometimes I just let a sketchbook page be a playground for new ideas.

While much of my work is deeply personal, I also see drawing as a dialogue. Fan art, for example, is my way of connecting with cultural figures and stories that shaped me. Animal drawings are both an exploration of nature and a reflection of inner symbolism. Mixed media pieces are a conversation with randomness — whatever material I find can become part of the story.
